GHK-Cu
≥98% Purity Research Use OnlyPrice range: $24.99 through $44.99
GHK-Cu is the copper(II) complex of the naturally occurring tripeptide glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine (GHK), studied extensively in cell culture and preclinical models. Supplied as a lyophilized powder for laboratory research use only.
Description
What is GHK-Cu?
GHK-Cu, also called copper tripeptide-1, is the complex formed between copper(II) and the tripeptide glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine (CAS 49557-75-7, molecular formula C14H22CuN6O4, molecular weight 401.9 g/mol). GHK occurs naturally in human plasma and has a copper affinity similar to the copper transport site on albumin.[1]
Research background
GHK-Cu has a long research history in fibroblast cell culture and rodent models. Published studies have examined its effect on matrix metalloproteinase-2 expression in fibroblast cultures[2] and on connective tissue accumulation in experimental wound models in rats.[3] A 2018 review discusses GHK in the context of gene expression data.[4]
Format and documentation
Atlas Labs Bio supplies GHK-Cu as a blue to blue-violet lyophilized powder (the color comes from the bound copper) in sealed glass vials at 50 mg and 100 mg. Every batch is tested by an independent third-party laboratory, and the certificate of analysis for the batch currently shipping is linked on this page and in the COA Library.
Storage: Store at 2-8°C.
Frequently asked questions
Why is GHK-Cu blue?
The blue to blue-violet color comes from the copper(II) ion bound to the GHK peptide.
What is the difference between GHK and GHK-Cu?
GHK is the tripeptide on its own. GHK-Cu is GHK bound to a copper(II) ion.[1]
What is the CAS number for GHK-Cu?
49557-75-7.
Can GHK-Cu be used by people?
No. Atlas Labs Bio products are sold strictly for laboratory research use and are not for human or animal consumption.
