KPV
≥98% Purity Research Use OnlyPrice range: $27.99 through $42.99
KPV is the tripeptide Lys-Pro-Val, corresponding to the C-terminal residues 11-13 of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (alpha-MSH). Supplied as a lyophilized powder for laboratory research use only.
Description
What is KPV?
KPV is a synthetic tripeptide with the sequence lysine-proline-valine (CAS 67727-97-3, molecular formula C16H30N4O4, molecular weight 342.43 g/mol). It corresponds to the C-terminal fragment, residues 11-13, of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (alpha-MSH).[1]
Research background
KPV has been studied in experimental inflammation models alongside the core alpha-MSH peptides. Published work dissecting the activity of these fragments reported that the C-terminal KPV peptide behaves differently from the core MSH peptides in those models.[1]
Format and documentation
Atlas Labs Bio supplies KPV as a white to off-white lyophilized powder in sealed glass vials at 5 mg and 10 mg. Third-party certificates of analysis for Atlas Labs Bio products are published in the COA Library.
Storage: Store at 2-8°C.
Frequently asked questions
What is the sequence of KPV?
Lysine-proline-valine (Lys-Pro-Val), a tripeptide.
How does KPV relate to alpha-MSH?
KPV corresponds to residues 11-13, the C-terminal end, of alpha-MSH.[1]
Can KPV be used by people?
No. Atlas Labs Bio products are sold strictly for laboratory research use and are not for human or animal consumption.
