Glutathione

≥98% Purity Research Use Only

$59.99

Glutathione (GSH) is the tripeptide gamma-glutamyl-cysteinyl-glycine, the most abundant non-protein thiol in mammalian tissues. Supplied in reduced form as a powder for laboratory research use only.

SKU: ATL-PEP-GLUT-1500MG Category:

Description

What is glutathione?

Glutathione, in its reduced form (GSH), is the tripeptide gamma-L-glutamyl-L-cysteinyl-glycine (CAS 70-18-8, molecular formula C10H17N3O6S, molecular weight 307.32 g/mol). It is the most abundant non-protein thiol in mammalian tissues.[1]

Research background

Glutathione is one of the most studied molecules in cell biology. It is a key determinant of cellular redox signaling,[1] and it is synthesized from its constituent amino acids by the sequential action of two enzymes, gamma-glutamylcysteine synthetase and GSH synthetase.[2]

Format and documentation

Atlas Labs Bio supplies reduced L-glutathione as a white to off-white powder in a 1500 mg vial. Every batch is tested by an independent third-party laboratory, and the certificate of analysis for the batch currently shipping is linked on this page and in the COA Library.

Storage: Store at 2-8°C.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between GSH and GSSG?

GSH is reduced glutathione. GSSG is glutathione disulfide, its oxidized form. This product is reduced glutathione (GSH).

What amino acids make up glutathione?

Glutamate, cysteine and glycine, joined through a gamma-glutamyl linkage.[2]

Can glutathione from Atlas Labs Bio be used by people?

No. Atlas Labs Bio products are sold strictly for laboratory research use and are not for human or animal consumption.
