Semax
≥98% Purity Research Use Only$35.99
Semax is a synthetic heptapeptide (Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro) derived from the adrenocorticotropic hormone fragment ACTH(4-10). Supplied as a lyophilized powder for laboratory research use only.
Description
What is Semax?
Semax is a synthetic heptapeptide with the sequence Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro (CAS 80714-61-0, molecular formula C37H51N9O10S, molecular weight 813.93 g/mol). It is an analog of the N-terminal fragment (4-10) of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH).[1]
Research background
Semax has been studied mainly in rodent models. Published studies have examined its binding in rat basal forebrain and its effect on brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) protein levels there,[1] as well as neurotrophin gene expression in rat brain.[2]
Format and documentation
Atlas Labs Bio supplies Semax as a white to off-white lyophilized powder in a sealed 5 mg glass vial. Every batch is tested by an independent third-party laboratory, and the certificate of analysis for the batch currently shipping is linked on this page and in the COA Library.
Storage: Store at 2-8°C.
Frequently asked questions
